We are very excited to announce that the 3rd edition of the Football Village of Hope will take place in July-August 2011.
This year for the first time we will have girls from both side of the border taking part in this Football peace building imitative.
The
Football Village of Hope is an Israeli-Palestinian football-based peace
building initiative. The Football Village of Hope's objective is to
bring together children from both sides of the Palestinian-Israeli
border, give them a chance to meet the "other side" and to break the
cycle of segregation and distrust.
Following the successful of the first two editions in 2008 and 2009,
children from both side of the broders will receive joint football training
from professional coaches of the Football Association of Ireland.
In addition to the football training the children will do joint peace building workshops.
Israeli leading football club, Maccabi Haifa football club will host the children both
to a league match and to training where they got to meet the players.
The training, workshops and field trip will be unforgettable experiences for the
children of both sides who get to know each other and enjoy joint activities.
Irish ambassador to Israel, Mr. Breifne O'Reilly will attend the Village’s closing ceremony and personally will hand out certifications to the participants.
